Declared “the best fruit in the world” by Mark Twain, the cherimoya produces a symphony of flavors reminiscent of a tropical vacation. The unique cherimoya taste features notes of pineapple, banana and papaya in every juicy and delicious bite. Creamy and custardy in texture, sweet and sparkling in tropical flavor, the cherimoya fruit is delicious out of hand or frozen to be scooped out like ice cream. Its distinctive dinosaur egg shape is both appetizing and amusing.
Although native to central America, these particular beauties were grown in California and hand-picked from Frog Hollow’s cherimoya trees. Among the many cherimoya benefits are a number of important vitamins, minerals and antioxidants, and these fruits also feature a generous amount of fiber for healthy digestion. Remove and discard the seeds and skin before eating.
