Playfully called the “dinosaur egg” pluot, the Dapple Dandy pluot has a distinctive appearance that’s just as memorable as its delicious flavor. This plum-apricot hybrid has marbled pink and green skin over white flesh threaded with rose. Dapple Dandy pluots are sweet and tart and have a crisp, refreshing bite that’s especially satisfying on a hot summer day. Kids especially love this pluot for its unique coloration as well as the lack of tartness in the skin.
The Dapple Dandy hangs on the tree much longer than other pluot. It will literally not fall, Farmer Al says. That means it just gets better with each passing day, allowing us to hand-pick each one at peak ripeness!
